Partnering with St. Vincent DePaul
We are a “tuna church”. We collect tuna, and other non-perishables, to donate to St. Vincent DePaul’s food pantry.
We cook and serve dinner twice a year at St. Vincent DePaul’s soup kitchen.
We provide the space, and they provide the supervision, for the Warming Center (formerly known as Fabian’s Place). We are on a rotating schedule with two other churches to open our doors from 8:30 p.m. at night until 7a.m. the following morning during the cold winter months.
House of Many Talents
Nearly 50 years ago, Anne Ross, born in 1916, started creating hand-sewn ABC charts to help children learn their alphabet. 18 women would gather in her apartment to sew, stitch and decorate the felt charts. The tradition continues along with the Let’s Count Counting Charts, and now the ladies meet in the Community Room at Holy Trinity every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to sew the charts, trace and glue the letters and numbers, and cut the hand-sewn toys. The House of Talents’ mission is to raise money for the church and the less fortunate. Each year, the group raises between $2,500 and $3,000 for Holy Trinity to use for its outreach projects.
To order a chart, contact the church at 860-347-2591 or email email@example.com.
Annual Ascension Day Shut-In Service
Every year in May for many years we have held our Annual Ascension Day Shut-In Service for the homebound and those in convalescent homes. This special event includes Holy Communion, prayers, special music and a wonderful luncheon.
